Jake Burman – To The Wolves

Last week I had the opportunity to do a video with one of my good friends Jake Burman. Jake is a really great musician and over the past year he has been sending me some of his live recordings from his shows out in Cali and I have really been loving his stuff. Since Jake lives out in California I don’t get to see him that often so it was great that we finally got a chance to get together. Anyway, this video is of Jake playing one of his original tracks, “To The Wolves.” It was a one take that we shot in True.Love Studios in Monroe, MI.

Creative Shorts

I used to produce a lot of films for myself. I would just pick a topic or location and go shoot. It was simple, refreshing, and a fun thing to do. However lately I have been so busy with paid projects and school I haven’t had much time for myself. However, the past two weekends I was able to go out and shoot some things for fun. The first video I went to an apple orchard near Toledo, OH and just shot for about an hour or so. The second video was done after going out to dinner with my family. My parents took the boat out for one of the last trips out on the lake this year so I decided to join him on the 30 minute trip back to the dock. Hope you enjoy!

Shooting this was an absolutely crazy. There was a lot of Buckeye Vodka, camera gear, lights and partying.

Pete and Amy Byron Wedding

I tried to remember the first time I met Amy. I couldn’t. Somewhere between Elementary school and our one day relationship in 7th grade at Trinity, Amy and I became friends. Pete on the other hand, I met in high school. There were years of beach parties, Adrian College visits, and even a fateful night at Windsor Casino where, I think, our presence was disallowed. They said we had too much to drink. We thought they had too little.

Years later, I’d film their wedding. It was the first wedding I filmed that wasn’t work. Both families I know personally. While editing, I found myself smiling and laughing — and that doesn’t happen often.

Below is perhaps my favorite wedding video I’ve had the privilege to produce. Additionally, friend and fellow photographer Kenny Wassus co-shot the wedding with me, and managed to grab a few photos between video; which can be found below.

I truly hope you enjoy.
